Samsung Bespokes’ New Features And Personalization Options

JaeSung Lee, President and Head of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics

The Samsung Bespoke line has been a success in the consumer market and has sold over 2 million of its 4-door French refrigerators worldwide. At the Bespoke Home Global Press Conference Samsung announced new additions to its Bespoke Home lineup. JaeSung Lee, President and Head of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, opened up the event by talking about how Samsung has made its home appliances more efficient and customizable. “When we introduced [the] Bespoke [line] we wanted to reimagine what home appliances could do,” said Jae Sung Lee.

Lee mentioned that AI Laundry care will be available for consumers in Europe and the US soon. Both Bespoke Washers and Dryers have a flat panel design and can be installed horizontally or vertically based on the consumers’ preference. The washer has a 5.3 cubic capacity which means users can put in bigger loads and have fewer wash cycles. This new smart appliance takes the guesswork out for laundry detergent because it has an auto dispense system that can hold up to 32 loads of detergent and softener. This saves time because it stores leftover detergent and users don’t have to add detergent each wash. The AI laundry care can monitor soil levels in clothing, and use eco bubble wash to clean clothes at a cooler temperature to save energy. The Bespoke dryer has an advanced moisture sensor so it can fully dry clothes and with its fast dry feature clothes can be dried within 30 minutes. settings can be controlled through the SmartThings Home Life App. The service is a new addition to the SmartThings app, that provides centralized and integrated control for consumers over their Samsung appliances through their smartphones. This app is available worldwide in 97 countries and includes six services: cooking, energy, clothing care, pet care, air care, and home care.

For cooking care, the SmartThings Home Life app allows consumers to monitor their food and adjust cooking settings remotely. So users don’t have to be in the room to check on their dishes and can turn off their Bespoke Oven remotely as well. Consumers can use the Home Life Cooking Service to search for recipes online and once selected the cooking settings will be sent to the devices needed. The Bespoke Oven is also equipped with AI Pro Cooking so the smart appliance can identify what food items are being cooked and automatically adjust its settings so the food is not over or undercooked. A dual cooking steam feature in the device allows for 2 dishes to be prepared at the same time with different settings. So while your dish is cooking, you can steam food on the bottom rack of the oven. Another interesting feature about the Bespoke Oven is that it is handle-free and consumers can open the oven with just one touch.

Speaking of design updates, the popular Bespoke 3-door and 4-door French refrigerator have new color options available: charcoal, clementine, sunrise yellow, morning blue, and emerald green. But that’s not all, Samsung is introducing MyBespoke which gives consumers the power of personalization and lets them select their own personal pictures or designs to put on the fridge. This customization will be possible through Samsung.com and will be available in North America by the end of this year.

Samsung has shown its dedication to reducing energy usage with the Smart Home Energy Saver. Now consumers can monitor their power usage with each Bespoke appliance or device in the kitchen, laundry room, and living room. If you forget to close your fridge or turn off the lights, which I have been guilty of a few times, the Energy Saver feature will send a notification to your smartphone.

Smart Things Home Life also comes with Pet Care through the camera in the Bespoke Jet Bot AI+. So while you are away you can monitor your pets through the camera, eliminating the need for pet cameras. If your pets seem anxious while you’re away from home, you can turn on music or the tv to help them relax.

The Smart Things Home Life App will help consumers manage and control their homes with ease. By automating home appliances, users can manage chores and upkeep of their homes with just the touch of a button.
