Today Amazon announced the latest addition to its Ring product lineup: the Ring Intercom. It’s an add-on to the company’s previous intercom system offerings, and is designed with consumers living in apartments in mind. The Ring Intercom operates over Wi-Fi and serves as a multi-function tool that connects to the user’s apartment building door. There is the Two-Way Talk feature that functions through the Ring app, wherein the user can communicate with someone attempting to enter the apartment building. There is also a Remote Unlock feature allowing assigned people to enter the building without having to be given permission. This could ease lots of difficulties and complications for Airbnb guests and delivery drivers.
In other news, Garmin announced the Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music, followups to the Garmin Venu Sq which was released just about two years ago. These are wearables with fitness and sleep functions on top of GPS features. There are a number of upgraded features from the original Venu Sq to these new options, but one of the main ones is the screen, which goes from LCD to OLED. The difference in the Venu Sq 2 and Sq 2 Music is a fairly simple one: the Venu Sq 2 Music has more storage for the user’s music catalog. The Venu Sq 2 costs $249.99 and the Venu Sq 2 Music costs $299.99.
Finally, sneaker heads will be excited for the newly announced LG Styler Showcase, a fancy shoebox-shaped display system for sneakers. The stackable displays keep the sneakers safe from UV light and can keep shoes safe from moisture and humidity. Making the Style Showcase even fancier is the rotating capabilities of each display box, allowing for the rotation of prized sneakers for maximum exposure.
