Hisense Deploys L5 Series Ultra Short Throw Laser Android TV

    Hisense’s space-saving L5 Series ultra-short-throw laser Android TV ($3,999) is now available.

The TV features a 100-inch ambient-light-rejecting screen, images that exceed the standard 4K color range, built-in speakers with dbx-tv cinematic sound and the Android TV platform.

The L5 Series is the first Hisense laser TV to sport the Android TV platform. Viewers can choose from more than 5,000 apps and games at their fingertips including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Prime Video and Pandora. Android TV also comes with Google Assistant built-in, so consumers can use the voice remote to access what they want to watch, and with universal search, can easily get recommendations.

The L5’s blue laser light source produces sharp images while avoiding unwanted light dispersion, offering a more natural viewing experience, Hisense says. Fast-moving images appear smooth, making it a suitable way to view sports and fast-action movies, and for use in gaming.

    Features include:

X-FUSION laser light source: The L5 utilizes a blue laser light source to create sharp images without unwanted light dispersion; it can reach nearly 2,700 lumens and span over a billion colors.

4K UHD picture with DLP technology: The 4K picture is powered by Texas Instruments DLP Theater Technology. Together with Hisense patented technologies, the L5 brings cinema-like detail and brightness, says Hisense.

Big-screen experience: Including a 100-inch ambient-light-rejecting screen, the L5 can be set up in nearly any room in the house in a variety of room conditions, while positioned at only 11.3 inches from the wall.

Android TV and Google Assistant built-in: The L5 brings the convenience and power of Android TV. Viewers can choose from more than 5,000 apps and games including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Prime Video, Pandora and much more. Watch live sports and news from popular channels or gather around to watch the hottest videos with 1,000+ Chromecast compatible apps. Android TV also comes with Google Assistant built-in, so consumers can use the voice remote to quickly access what they want to watch, and with universal search, it’s never been easier to get recommendations.

True-to-life images and pure color: The L5 exceeds the Rec. 709 standard UHD color range, and reaches 83 percent of DCI-P3 for an accurate and enhanced spectrum of color.

High Dynamic Range: High Dynamic Range (HDR10 and HLG decoding) opens a new range of color and contrast.

Smooth motion: The Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) reacts faster to movement than LED or OLED, says the company, creating fluid motion. MEMC Technology further aids in motion enhancement for viewing sports, fast-action movies and gaming.

Built-in speakers featuring dbx-tv: Embedded 30W speakers combine with dbx-tv digital audio technology for detailed sound.

Built to last: X-Fusion™ laser light technology provides up to 25,000-plus hours of entertainment without the need for replacing a bulb.
