Due to persisting travel restrictions from several locations, many companies, especially from the Asian core exhibitors markets, felt they could not effectively participate in IFA Global Markets, thus the organizers of IFA 2020 Special Edition have decided to postpone the IFA Global Markets portion of the event until 2021. Preparations for the IFA 2020 Special Edition as a physical event however remain in full swing.
IFA Global Markets will be held again in 2021. Plans to reunite manufacturers, distributors and retailers at the major sourcing platform for Consumer and Home Electronics this year in Berlin as part of the IFA 2020 Special Edition proved to be impossible for companies from Asian markets.
“Through discussions with our partners we learned that the demand for participating in a real physical trade show this year remains strong”, explained Jens Heithecker, IFA Executive Director. “However, persistent travel restrictions prevent Asian companies from joining the live event in Berlin. Under these circumstances, many had to postpone their participation in IFA Global Markets to next year.” Pan-Asian suppliers within the consumer and home electronics industry account for a major part of IFA Global Markets exhibitors.
“The decision to postpone this event section of IFA 2020 Special Edition to 2021 was not an easy one for us”, said Heithecker. “Especially since almost 600 companies were eager to present themselves in Berlin this year. Yet we have to accept that, with ongoing travel restrictions, for many of our partners it is simply impossible to plan and prepare for this year’s IFA Global Markets.”
All companies which planned to participate in the IFA 2020 Special Edition but cannot join now may present their brands, products and innovations digitally as part of the IFA Virtual Market Place. For those companies which still plan to participate in 2020, the IFA team offers alternative solutions to ensure a successful and effective presentation.
IFA Global Markets is IFA’s international sourcing platform for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), ODMs (original design manufacturers), suppliers, and component manufacturers.
Preparations for the IFA 2020 Special Edition, which will take place from 3 to 5 September 2020 in Berlin, are continuing at full speed. Globally outstanding brands have already announced their participation at this year’s IFA 2020 Special Edition. Among others, BSH, Huawei, Honor, JVC Kenwood, LG, Miele, Qualcomm and Schneider electric will showcase their latest innovations and products.
To participate in the IFA 2020 Special Edition, registration in advance is necessary. Registered participants will also receive access to the IFA 2020 Xtended Space, the digital extension of the IFA 2020 Special Edition.
Please note: Due to the current situation this year we can neither offer on-site accreditation for media representatives nor registration for trade visitors. Therefore online pre-registration is mandatory. In order to enable as many visitors as possible to participate on site, a query will be made in the course of this pre-registration regarding the intended day of the visit.
