MantelMount, a manufacturer of solutions for high-on-the-wall television mounting (such as over a fireplace), announced that Michael N. Smith has joined MantelMount as the company’s new Vice President of Wholesale Operations.
In his role, Smith will be responsible for all aspects of MantelMount’s business-to-business sales channel efforts, including strategy, sales, marketing, and improving operational and technology infrastructure.
Prior to joining MantelMount, Smith served as Senior Vice President of Operations, IT & Marketing at Directed, LLC, North America’s largest designer and marketer of consumer-branded vehicle security and remote start systems. He also held various management positions at Ford Motor Company and at Wingcast, a joint venture between Ford and Qualcomm.
Smith’s decision to become part of the MantelMount team stems from his desire to align himself with best-in-class products and industry trailblazers.
“Throughout my career, I’ve actively sought to associate with market leaders and pioneers, like Directed, Ford, and Qualcomm,” he noted. “I saw that MantelMount was doing things that no one else in the TV mount space was doing. What’s more, I got a glimpse at the innovations that they had coming down the road, and I was extremely impressed.

Based on his experience at Directed, Smith brings an understanding of the manufacturing, marketing and operational elements required to make MantelMount a household name, as well as growing the wholesale side of the business exponentially.

MantelMount sells a complete line of full-motion flatscreen TV mounts, both manual and automated. The company’s newest offering, the MM860, is MantelMount’s first entry in the smart home category and has been very well-received.
Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
