TP-Link has unleashed two new Wi-Fi 6 routers: the Archer AXE5400 and the AX5400. Both routers utilize tri-band technology to increase bandwidth for users needing support on multiple devices. According to the company, access to the 6 GHz frequency allows for greater integration with cutting-edge technologies such as AR, VR, and 8K streaming. Both routers are currently available on Amazon for $200.
In other news, Shopify and YouTube announced that they are joining forces to allow content creators to sell products on the social media platform. Via the partnership, businesses can tag products in YouTube livestream videos and add a store tab to their content page. This announcement is just the latest instance of social commerce becoming more dynamic and blending into the traditional bastions of online retail.
On the benefit of the partnership, Kaz Nejatian, Shopify’s vice president of product, said in an interview with Fast Company: “It’s kind of like going to a baseball game and in the middle being able to buy the bat that they’re using.” The goal of the partnership is to bring a personalized twang to the convenience of e-commerce. Nejatian said: “The problem is that so much of what happens on the internet is buying, not shopping. Shopping is a social experience.”
