The judges have granted the 2022 TV Shootout© award for Best 8K Living Room TV (SDR Day Mode) to the Sony XR85Z9K.
SDR, or Standard Dynamic Range, is currently the standard format for home video and cinema displays. When testing for this Day Mode setting, the judges allowed ambient light and brightness in from the windows. This made the room lighting authentic to how the mode is intended to be used.
After inspections of multiple video samples in this setting, the judges voted and decided that the Sony XR85Z9K is the best of today’s 8K TV selection for this specific mode. So, should anyone be interested in a television for the primary use in a well-lit living room, then the Sony XR85Z9K is a great choice.
