Sony’s recent addition to its pan-tilt-zoom camera line, the SRG-X40UH, which was announced in April, is now available for shipping in the United States and Canada. The SRG-X40UH utilizes a 4K Exmor R CMOS image sensor to project images in 4K and HDMI connectivity. Users can turn the device into a webcam simply by running a USB cable from their device to the camera.
On the hole filled by the SRG-X40UH, Rich Ventura, Vice President of B2B, Sony Electronics said in the company’s press release: “Over the past two years, the world has witnessed and adapted to drastic changes in the way we work and learn. Such circumstances have created a pressing demand for efficient remote communication that multiple users can access anytime anywhere with high reliability.”
The SRG-X40UH camera retails for $2,199.
