Bowers & Wilkins Unveils 800 Series Signature

Bowers & Wilkins

Bowers & Wilkins, the renowned audio brand known for its prestigious loudspeakers, has unveiled its latest additions to the Signature line. The Bowers & Wilkins 801 D4 Signature and 805 D4 Signature represent the pinnacle of the company’s design and thinking, solidifying their position as the new flagships in the loudspeaker portfolio.

The 801 D4 Signature is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker that builds upon the iconic 801 D4 model found in Abbey Road Studios. It features the brand’s Diamond Dome tweeter, Continuum Cone FST midrange drive unit, and powerful twin 250mm Aerofoil Cone bass drivers. The speaker incorporates various upgrades, including an enhanced aluminium top plate, improved port output, upgraded crossover, and a new FEA-optimized tweeter grille mesh. These enhancements result in even greater midrange transparency and cleaner, more accurate bass.

On the other hand, the 805 D4 Signature is a standmount speaker that offers exceptional performance in a smaller form factor. It boasts an upgraded grille mesh, crossover with new bypass capacitors, and an enhanced bass/midrange motor system. The 165mm drive unit delivers cleaner midrange and extended bass, while mechanical revisions to the aluminium top plate reduce unwanted noise and vibration.

Both the 801 D4 Signature and 805 D4 Signature are available in two exclusive finishes. The Midnight Blue Metallic paint, known from the iconic Nautilus loudspeaker, undergoes a meticulous 18-hour application process, resulting in a gleaming and lustrous finish. Alternatively, customers can opt for the exceptional California Burl Gloss wood veneer, featuring unique wood figuring and a luxurious high gloss finish. The finishing time for a single 801 D4 Signature in this veneer exceeds 24 hours.
