Accomplishments: I’ve been fortunate enough to have varied accomplishments throughout the years but I would say some of the most rewarding have been to be active in roles that provided exposure to all stages of product lifecycle, from initial concept through design and engineering to production and ultimately sales. This holistic view of all the necessary steps to make a project successful has proven very valuable in determining the viability of projects and ideas.

What I Like Best About My Job: When you are fortunate enough to be working in a field you love, it doesn’t really feel like “work” in the traditional sense. I’m an audio enthusiast and music lover so working in this market space has been very rewarding. Beyond that, what I like most about my job would be the team I’m working with. It’s such a talented group of people whose skill sets complement each other very well and we all genuinely care about each other.
What I like Least About My Job: I could deal without the hour-long commute to the office (been enjoying the break from that while working from home). But that’s got more to do with my desire to stay living in the woods of NH. 🙂
Pastime/Hobby: Beyond listening to music, I enjoy my time riding motorcycles (often combining the two). Our season is short in the Northeast, but we log many miles on two wheels.
Favorite Movie: The Godfather, Part 2
My Hero, and Why: I’m not one to idolize celebrities or public figures. I have been truly blessed to have had such positive professional influences in my life, including my parents Flo and Skip Mark as well as team members I still work with today, including Rob Mainiero, Bob Hazelwood and Mark Reeves. My professional growth is 100% due to the efforts they have made to help me along the way.
Favorite CE Product: Not to be biased, but I love Andover’s Spinbase! Simple, clean design, amazing sound, and easy connection. It’s a very cool product!!
Major Industry Problem and How to Fix It: The CE industry is broad in terms of types of products. I can only speak with any conviction as to issues related to audio products, specifically those with speakers. I see the one of the bigger challenges being Supply Chain reliance centralized in China. The reliance on China for materials and sub components used in manufacturing speakers becomes painfully obvious when things like trade wars, port congestion and raw material issues pop up. Anyone else remember the Neodymium crisis of 2012? It would be nice to see other regions build the infrastructure to support speaker manufacturing at competitive price points the same way China did in the ’90s.
What Makes You Believe the CE Industry Will Thrive in the Next 5 Years: Developments in core technologies with drive the industry growth. Look at things like network audio. The solutions have become much more available and cost effective than they had been even three years ago! Similar developments in other technologies will continue to drive the useful nature of products and cost effectiveness, hopefully.
