Name: Jennifer Brandt

Age: 37

Job Title: Channel Marketing Manager

Company: Legrand AV

Years in Industry: 7

Accomplishments: In a company like ours, everything is a team effort. Together, we’ve designed and launched quite a few award-winning CE products. We’ve worked hard to understand our customers’ needs and allow their voice to help guide our design principles. From a marketing perspective, I implemented a more thorough digital analytics review process, which has allowed us to make more data-driven decisions and continually optimize our strategy throughout each campaign. Because of this, we’ve seen a significant increase in performance and a higher ROI for our marketing efforts.

Where You Grew Up, Live Now: I grew up in Deer Lake, a very small town in Central Pennsylvania. After college, I moved to the West Coast for a while; I lived in San Diego for a few years and then San Francisco. I loved both cities but eventually, I wanted to be closer to my family and moved back to Harrisburg, PA, where I live now.

Education: I attended Kutztown University, the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and the University of California, San Francisco, majoring in Advertising and Communications. And recently, I’ve taken a few certificate courses in marketing and data analytics at the University of Pennsylvania.

What I Like Best About My Job: I work with an amazing team of people. Aside from being incredibly talented and creative, they inspire me daily and make me laugh constantly. And we get to design and sell products that make people’s lives easier – it doesn’t get better than that.

What I like Least About My Job: Hands down – trade show booth setup.

Last Book Read: Reading Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. It’s a profound and powerful book about racism in America.

Best Concert: All around, one of the best concerts I’ve seen in the past couple years is Wilco. It was at my favorite outdoor venue in Philadelphia, the weather was perfect, and they put on a phenomenal show.

My Hero, and Why: My 6-year-old daughter, Scotland, never ceases to amaze me with her boundless optimism, brilliant imagination, and unwavering kindness. She’ll win you over with her fierce sense of humor and a quick wit that’s pure magic. But it’s her humility, loyalty, and compassionate heart that allow her to quickly form deeper connections with people. When you combine all of these things with Scotland’s fearlessness, natural curiosity, and mindful determination, I have no doubt that she could change the world one day. Her love for life is contagious, and she inspires me to dream bigger, be better, and love without limitations.

What Makes You Believe the CE Industry Will Thrive in the Next 5 Years: The CE industry will get healthier and thrive with the continued growth in IoT. With smart technology being adopted at a rapid pace, homes will become fully automated and more efficient, saving people time and money. Wearable devices will act as medical accessories for better health and wellness. We’ll see advances in home and cyber security for increased safety and peace of mind. And as smart devices become easier, more accessible, and more affordable, they’ll be integrated into every part of our lives. I love being a part of this growing industry and I can’t wait to see what the next 5 years will bring.
