Theron Mackey
Owner – CEO
Cinq Tech Staffing and Serves and Cinq LLC
28 years in the industry

Tell us about your career so far.

My background is in business technology, manufacturing, and logistics. I have more than 25 years in consumer electronics or related industries.

My educational achievements include bachelor’s degrees in electronic engineering, business management, and marketing and salesmanship. I also have a master’s in business management.

I decided to venture out as an entrepreneur in 2019, co-founding two separate companies. Cinq LLC is a technical, logistics, warehousing, and return depot in New Albany, IN. Cinq Tech Staffing and Services is a staffing company that provides staffing and professional development services.

Describe your current role.

My role as owner and CEO, first and foremost, is to continue to develop a positive culture and experience for all employees and partners. Through my leadership, I strive for 100 percent inclusion of all.

Strategically, my role includes developing business relationships with companies and customers that reflect our common vision/goals. I also oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure that CTSS and Cinq LLC are both on the path to growing and continuing to change the lives of our current and future employees.

When it comes to diversity and inclusion, how is the CE industry doing both historically, and also in the past year?

Historically, I do not believe the CE industry has developed the awareness and focus that promotes diversity and inclusion throughout the industry’s top companies. This effort must start at the top.

Over the past year, I think credit should be given to many industry leaders for their initiative and directive to help build social equality throughout their companies. I would love to see this positive trend continue.

What could the CE industry do to improve diversity and inclusion?

Diversity in CE is all about bringing more perspectives to a traditionally non-inclusive industry. We must continue to raise awareness and challenge all to become better educated on this initiative for equity inclusion. Programs and educational services are needed at every level of employment to help build skill sets and confidence with a sense of belonging within many of today’s companies.

What would you tell non-black professionals in the CE industry who want to support the inclusion of black people in the industry?

I would tell them to seek ways to socially educate themselves. Beware of unconscious bias. Get involved or participate in diversified groups. Develop strategic training programs that are inclusive of ALL!

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of being a man of God. I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful family and to have been given opportunities to have a positive impact in helping others along the way.

Fitness Lifestyle – Virtual Reality Training
