For appliance manufacturer Haier, IFA 2020 Special Edition presented an opportunity to showcase growth, future vision and new innovations, and that was clearly the focus of their IFA 2020 press event. CEO of Haier Europe, Yannick Fierling, presented an exciting time for the company, highlighting the aforementioned growth, along with some exciting new concepts and products.
Fierling’s presentation highlighted the company’s global leadership in the home appliances industry and its growth ambition for Europe, where it aims to become the first consumer choice in the smart home category and among the top three leaders in the segment by 2023.
He also highlighted the company’s successful business model that is now built on IoT ecosystems and the multi-brand strategy for Candy, Hoover and Haier. The overriding message was clear and simple, presenting a philosophy and strategy for the company that has the ultimate goal of achieving “Zero Distance with the Consumer”.
Featured were Haier’s cutting-edge technologies and innovation, with a focus on the launch of an entirely new built-in segment offer for Haier, with a series of new features for the refrigeration and wine coolers range, aimed at what Fierling referred to as, “The Haier brand’s premiumness, bringing high quality and sophisticated design to the kitchen, with artificial intelligence at the core of this proposition.”
Fierling explained that Candy is following its path to smartness with a new and intuitive washing machine, NOVA, fully developed thanks to consumers’ habits and delivered to simplify everyday life with smart functions and a typical Italian style.
As for Hoover, he added, “We are pleased to introduce here at IFA the first “3in1” well-being ecosystem, interconnected into Hoover ranges and designed for a healthier home living.”
He also mentioned how excited Haier is regarding hOn, their single, centralized digital platform that is able to control and manage appliances of all Haier brands. hOn is Haier’s new immersive experience in the connected environment of the home. With the latest technology, advanced digital solutions, AI and machine learning for tailored and intelligent solution, advanced sensors, and the partnerships with service & products providers, Haier is claiming that hOn will ensure the customized and valuable experience for Haier products for all users.
Fierling also updated recent developments with the “Haier Smart Home” project.
“The Haier Smart Home reflects not only our company and brand positioning but, most importantly, our philosophy: it’s about a change in paradigm, from a product, a concept to a seamless scenario experience,” he explained. “We’ve transformed from a traditional manufacturing company into a co-creation and win-win IoT community ecosystem.”
Ultimately, not unlike all the participants at this year’s IFA 2020 Special Edition, Fierling is happy for the physical and virtual opportunity the event is offering his company.
“We appreciate the efforts by the organization to pull together all relevant stakeholders despite the unprecedented times and unfavorable conditions,” he added. “This really gives a sense of optimism and forward-looking spirit, which is at the core of our industry and business. We’re glad to be here and support this year’s edition of IFA which will definitely be memorable!”
