Turner, CBS, LG, and the NCAA Partner to Stream Live College Sports

LG and the NCAA College Sports team up

March Madness has a new home on LG smart TVs. The TV manufacturer’s three-year partnership with the NCAA, Turner Sports, and CBS Sports will bring exclusive NCAA sports content straight to LG customers. The cornerstone of this partnership of broadcasters, LG and the NCAA is the NCAA Championships Channel, a new smart TV streaming channel featuring a vast array of NCAA sports.

LG will be given both live and on-demand broadcasting access for up to 50 NCAA championships from Fall, Winter, and Spring sports. The NCAA Championships Channel is set to be housed within the LG Channels application. Accessible from the application’s home page on any LG smart TV, LG Channels features 350 free ad-supported channels in the United States. On top of live and on-demand access to NCAA sports, LG’s NCAA channel will feature insider content into a viewer’s favorite athletes and schools, as well as live updates on NCAA sporting events.

“As a fan of the NCAA, LG is excited about this one-of-a-kind sponsorship opportunity which will deliver various services for fans, including live streaming content through a big-screen experience and enhanced access to games,” said Peggy Ang, Senior Vice President of marketing at LG Electronics USA, in the press release. “The NCAA is an organization that catapults some of sports’ top talent to higher levels and LG will put a spotlight on the wide breadth of NCAA student-athletes who strive for excellence in many of the sports categories and divisions through the enhanced access to NCAA championships coverage.”

Set to launch this month, the NCAA Championships Channel will begin by airing highlights and games from past NCAA championships with on-demand coverage of the Fall 2021 NCAA championship games. Live streaming of NCAA sports is set to kick off during this upcoming Winter season.

“We’re thrilled to welcome LG to the NCAA Corporate Partner family as it brings a platform that will put more of a spotlight on outstanding student-athlete accomplishments with its SmartTV channels,” said Dan Gavitt, NCAA senior vice president of basketball. “NCAA student-athletes are high achievers in the classroom and in competition. LG is providing a special opportunity for athletes to be seen and to have a voice around their championships. We thank LG for providing this unique platform where student-athletes can talk about their overall experiences and their competitive achievements.”
