IFA 2022: IFA+ Summit Focuses on De/globalization

Conference to take place on September 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the IFA Convention Area in Hall 23. First speakers already confirmed. Trade visitors can attend the IFA+ Summit with their regular IFA ticket.

Be it the climate crisis, the pandemic, or the war in the Ukraine and the resultant raw material shortages – the current crises are also a crisis of a globalized world. Thus, de/globalization will be the focus of this year’s IFA+ Summit. On September 5, under the heading ’In the Face of Disruption De/Globalization – The Universal Remedy’, a wide range of assessments and views await trade visitors.

At the IFA think tank, under the time-honored slogan ’THE NEXT LEVEL OF THINKING’, national and international experts will gather to discuss the opportunities and risks of deglobalization and offer scientific and philosophical opinions. Political decision-makers and futurists will outline concrete practical scenarios.

First speakers confirmed

Dr. Reinhard Zinkann is participating in this year’s IFA+ Summit. He is Executive Director and Co-Proprietor of the Miele Group, the world’s leading premium manufacturer of domestic appliances, founded in 1899. He studied Economics, Business Administration, History and the History of Music and Philosophy in Freiburg, Boston (Harvard) and Cologne.

The German philosopher, cultural scientist and publisher Peter Sloterdijk is taking part in this year’s IFA+ Summit. In Germany, his articles and books have been the subject of much debate. In 2005 he wrote a book entitled ’In the World Interior of Capital: Towards a Philosophical Theory of Globalization’.

Prof. Marcel Fratzscher will offer a critical view of the concept of deglobalisation. He is president of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and professor of Macroeconomics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His other positions include member of the United Nations High-Level Advisory Board on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His work deals mainly with macroeconomics, the financial markets, inequality, globalisation and European integration.

Geraldine de Bastion and Daniel Anibal Bröckerhoff will moderate the IFA+ Summit 2022. During the last 18 years De Bastion’s work has focused on the digital transformation, international cooperation, innovation and human rights. Bröckerhoff lives and works in Hamburg and Hannover as a journalist and moderator for analogue television, digital video content and innovative events.
