Omdia’s latest research has uncovered a significant trend in May 2023, indicating that LCD TV display sizes larger than 50 inches are surpassing previous records. This positive signal bodes well for the display manufacturing industry. Increasing demand for larger-sized TVs driven by better picture quality and visual performance. Consumers now prefer larger sizes, leading to a shift in the TV display replacement cycle and long-term expectations for superior features.

According to David Hsieh, Senior Director in Omdia’s Display research practice, “increasing demand for larger sizes of LCD TV display will lead to greater TFT LCD capacity consumption and consumer expectations for superior features within their larger size displays will continue in the long-term.”
