Electric Boat Breaks Records, Sailing 483 Miles in 24 Hours with Charging Stops
In an impressive achievement for electric boat technology, a Candela C-8 Polestar Powered boat sailed a remarkable 420 nautical miles (483 miles) within 24 hours, including charging stops, setting a new record for long-distance electric boat travel. This feat, which is equivalent to a journey from San Francisco to San Diego or from Tampa, Florida to New Orleans, demonstrates the viability of fast, long-distance electric water transport today.
The record-breaking event, conducted in collaboration with battery manufacturer Northvolt and charging provider Plug in Stockholm, Sweden, showcased the potential of future charging networks for boats.
