A timeless wonder, Star Wars has captivated Americans across generations with The Mandalorian being only the latest masterpiece from the series. So it’s only fitting that this new generation of Star Wars be incorporated into the new age of gaming, which is exactly what Seagate Technology has done with the release of the new product line of Star Wars Mandalorian Beskar Ingot Drives. Created in collaboration with Lucasfilm, the new line of PC gaming storage devices brings to life the Star Wars ‘precious metals’ aesthetic.
The special edition Star Wars Mandalorian galaxy designs will be available in Seagate’s FireCuda lineup of products including the M.2 NVMe, 2.5-inch SATA, and external HDD formats. Each drive is designed to look like an ingot of Beskar, a unique alloy used in the show to make the finest Mandalorian Armor. The drives also include the prominent Imperial stamp to give it the most realistic feel possible.
“We are thrilled to bring unique, iconic designs from one of the world’s most popular franchises to the forefront of every gamer’s battle station,” said Jeff Fochtman, Senior Vice President of Business and Marketing at Seagate Technology, in the press release. “This collaboration appeals to global audiences including gamers, PC builders, and Star Wars enthusiasts alike.”
As far as other goes, the Star Wars aesthetic is also featured on some of Seagate’s most cutting-edge gaming memory devices. The PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD is the company’s fastest M.2 2280 SSD, which Seagate claims is up to nine times faster than SATA-based SSDs. The SATA-based SSD version is designed with a very slim 2.5-inch form factor to allow for easy installation and build options.
The PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD will be available in 500GB for $159.99 and 1TB for $259.99, the SATA SSD will be available in 1TB for $159.99 and 2TB for $269.99, and the external HDD will be available in 2TB for $99.99.
